The Massachusetts Convergence is currently under development with the leadership of The Boston Foundation, the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, Health Resources in Action, and the Massachusetts Department of Health. Mass in Motion—a multi-funder, comprehensive statewide obesity prevention initiative focused on healthy eating and physical activity—serves as the foundation for the creation of a Massachusetts Convergence. The initiative features a multi-faceted approach that includes regulations to promote healthy eating and physical activity, grants to cities and towns to implement policy and systems change strategies to address overweight and obesity, a workplace wellness initiative, and a coordinated statewide communications campaign to provide Massachusetts' residents with culturally appropriate information on how to integrate healthy eating and physical activity into their daily lives. Currently, the partners are continuing to build alliances and exploring opportunities to implement key equity-focused policy and environmental change initiatives. Mass in Motion |
