The NH HEAL Campaign is committed to working with state and community partners to improve health and the quality of life for all New Hampshire residents through implementation of healthy eating and active living policy, communication, and program interventions. NH Convening Partners – made up of four foundations, a regional health promotion organization, the governor’s health initiative, and six state agencies – came together to support a process for creating the HEAL Action Plan for New Hampshire. The Action Plan highlights policy interventions that are implemented by six sectors—schools, the health care industry, businesses and worksites, the food and recreation industry, communities and municipalities, and individuals and families. The Convening Partners have provided support for a HEAL “Home”—an organization responsible for implementing the interventions detailed in the Action Plan; a community grant program, which would guarantee multi-year funding to support communities carrying out the interventions; and a HEAL Partner Program to bring recognition to organizations, communities and businesses that are advancing the HEAL interventions. The NH HEAL Initiative is currently in the process of creating a sustainable governing body called the HEAL Leadership Council. The NH HEAL Initiative (New Hampshire) |
