The Helping Ourselves Overcome Disparities Project (Osborn H.O.O.D), will demonstrate the successful convergence of residents and community stakeholders in developing an environment within the Detroit Osborn community, which sustains a healthy eating and active lifestyle for youth and adults. The project will promote youth leadership, economic opportunities and improved community social cohesion by building the Osborn community bus system. Youth involvement in designing and implementing the system will create momentum for the development of the Osborn Community Youth Institute and the strengthening of job opportunities for youth.
